There's Something About Transfer
One of Indonesian sport tabloid released that Fiorentina's Luca Toni could move to another club this summer. It's reported that some bog clubs such as Juventus, Inter, Bayern, and Roma are lining up for this Italian international signature. Should this transfer happen, Fiorentina target Adriano of Inter and Alberto Gilardino of Milan as replacement. I also read somewhere else that Real Madrid are looking for the possiblity to buy Christiano Ronaldo from Manchester United. The Spanish giant claim that they are willing to pay 80 million pounds for the Portuguese winger. Not only that, Madrid are also interesting to land Kaka from Milan. I bet that it would cost a fortune to land Kaka.
Looking at the above passage, I ask myself, "what the hell is going on?" I'm afraid that football would become a very capitalistic industry where money do all the talking. If this trend goes on, then there's a possiblity that only rich clubs dominate the main stage. The power of football will be determined by clubs' bank account. Conservative values like regeneration and improving young players will be gone. Big clubs would no longer care about their young players. They wouldn't spend so much time to improve young talents into quality players. They wouldn't bother to do so. Just reach deeply into their pocket and jump into market.
This trend would also affect the players' salary. Expensive players would demand high salary. They will become a celebrity instead of a hardworking players. This could make them more and more individualistics. What will the result of this phenomena? Yes, football would become more individualistic. They will play for themselves instead of the team's pride. Football can be veri boring to watch, then. I think FIFA should consider the salary cap system so that clubs can only have a few number of star players. Big players would spread all around the club and there will be no domination by 1 or 2 club(s).
